The upcoming hoard of live action Disney movies

Disney is planning to make lots of live action movies based on their old movies.

Disney is planning to make over 20 movies based off of the old animated ones. Some of the ones they plan to make are directly based off of the old movies while others are about the lesser characters in it.

Using a combination of IMdB, Reddit, and blogger posts, I was able to scorer the internet and pull together any information I could find on each film. Here are the results:

Mulan -

After multiple years it was finally decided that they will be releasing it on November 2 of next year. The movie isn't going to be the same. Currently there aren't supposed to be any songs in the movie so no I'll make a Man Out Of You. They haven't picked an actress for Mulan yet but it will be a chinese actress. There is also so Li Shang. Instead there is a person named Chen Honghui.

The Little Mermaid -

This one is nothing like the original. Its supposed to be coming out this year. It isn't taking place in the sea for sure. It's a mermaid on land who is at a circus. It seems a bit more modern. No prince charming stuff. There is no Ursula either. And she doesn't even have red hair. Basically the only thing that's the same is she is an actual mermaid.

Snow White -

The new snow white will most likely be the same but for sure expand on the story and music of the original. There will also most likely be a spin off movie of Snow White by Disney called Rose Red. This movie will be about her sister.

The Lion King -

It was finally announced recently announced that it has a release date in 2019. In the live action movie Mufasa will be voiced by the original mufasa. Simba will be voiced by Donald Glover, Timon by Billy Eichner, and Pumba by Seth Rogen. There are others that are rumored but those are for sure.

Aladdin -

There will for sure be singing in this live action remake. This movie has an unexpected director, Guy Ritchie. Rumors that Kevin Hart and Will Smith are some of the top choices for the genie. There is no for sure roles announced though. They also don't have a release date yet.

Dumbo -

This live action remake will be directed by Tim Burton. Nothing else is set in stone for this movie. This movie is supposed to be completely based on the original. Danny DeVito, Eva Green, and Tom Hanks are all reportedly considering roles.

The Sword in the Stone -

Disney is developing a movie with the writer of Game Of Thrones, Bryan Cogman. Brigham Taylor will direct the movie. Nothing else is known about the film.

Peter Pan –

They are making another Peter Pan movie but this time it's Disney. The director of Pete's Dragon, David Lowery, will be directing this movie. Nothing else is known about the film.

Cruelle –

Emma Stone will star in this movie as Cruella De Vil. The movie is set to come out in the next three years. There is no set date or anyone else casted.

Prince Charming –

The story will be told from the princes brothers point of view. They haven't picked a certain Prince Charming yet but it seems to kind of go over how they all are in one prince.

In my opinion they are just doing it for money. If they want to remake the old ones they should stick to the old plot. I love Disney but they should do their best to do the oldies justice.

Hopefully the upcoming live action Disney movies will be just as good as their latest which was Beauty and the Beast.
