PACT Charter School just had their homecoming on September 16, and according to Kailey Hagen a senior at PACT “It was pretty lit and everyone had a good time.” Pact students wore many varieties of fashion at the dance making it another fashionable year at homecoming.

Not only was the dance an awesome, and a fun time for everyone who went, but it was also a time to dress up nice and fancy. It seemed like most everyone who attended the dance seemed to have shopped for their clothes at the same places, and wore relatively similar style clothing.

But what was the fashion trend at the dance? “most guys wore a tie and a nice shirt,” said Karl Heiberg a PACT junior who attended the dance. According to Kaylin, “Most girls wore a casual dress or a nice shirt and pants,” Kaylin is currently in her senior year at PACT.

When asked who they went to the dance with Kaylin Scherer said she went with her super awesome friends. There was also many students who went to the dance with a date, how cute!

The homecoming dance was a semi-formal affair, so everyone made sure to show up in the Gucci, Armani, Calvin Klein, Channel, etc. Right? “Nah, most guys shopped at Kohl's,¨said Karl. For the women, Kaylin told us, ¨I American Eagle, Rue21, PINK, or Aeropostale is my guess where most girls shop for homecoming.” So no “fashionistas” at PACT yet, but that’s part of the charm too.

Every year at the OScars, it’s all about the red carpet. There are shows on every major network, both during and after, where experts discuss the latest trend, or stand out outfits. What was the stand-out outfit this year at the dance? Kaylin said, “nothing really, it all looked the same to me.”

Standing out on the red carpet is a must in Hollywood, but for the PACT faithful, there is a different priority: “probably to they don't look stupid and stand out,” said Karl. Fitting in is a big pressure in HS, and it appears it influences student fashion choices here at PACT.

Which for some mightve been true, as a teen, kids don't want to feel left out and they want to fit in with everyone else and dressing different could affect that for some - many can say this from experience.

Unlike Hollywood starlets, PACT students have parents at home, this could have been a contributing factor to the fashion trends at the dance. Karl Haiberg was asked this and replied saying, ¨Yes, I think that the students dressed more appropriate being in PACT. Also, some parents could have made their children dress more appropriate too.¨

The dance was one of the most attended in 7 years and it was a big success, fashion and all. Even though no one quite dressed separate or more unique from everyone else, the fashion at the dance was still awesome. The dances are always the best at our small school. We all know each other, and get along which is one good thing about PACT. If you don't go to the dances you're missing out!
